Culture? Culture!

ha. just realised some of my readers are people in power. so ha i shall be responsible and add on to my previous post on 'Fairness'. Just one point will suffice... I hope. aiyah actually i dun really care. haha. ok... Besides the ranking i gave, i think we need to look into the unmeasurable aspect of the individual too. His attitude and beliefs(??). How is s/he going to shape the people around him/her or the team or the comm or the block or even the hall. or 'influence' to put it simply. You know what I am talking about so I shall save my breathe and shan't elaborate further. Or rather i am just plain old lazy.

Alright. One of my favourite topic. Culture! (no.. not the singing, acting shit!) Just some thoughts about the living environment or invisible thing we often like to call culture.

Culture, if you REALLY go think about it.. it's a big word. MASSIVE. It somehow shapes the hall identity, who we are and what we do. And it's ever changing! especially when decisions are made from the top. (this is one of the scary long term changes we see based on decisions made long ago). Think about it.

Sometimes I think of how come we are not able to attract and most importantly retain talents. Especially in the sporting sense. Why are the two other halls much more attractive than us? are we not as good? ok lets face reality, their title chances might be better for some sports, but is it really all about that? I dun believe all the atheletics are so superficial or maybe shallow (yes! so do exist. but it's not their fault to want to win medals!). so what is it that is so lacking?

Answer? I would like to think. It's the culture. More often than not, we cast the dirty eye on those who managed to stay back just becos of one sport as compared to those who toiled their asses off in sports, culture and comms. Fairness? (refer to previous post) If I were one of them, I would always feel uncomfortable and have that 'i am not welcomed becos i din work hard enuff' feeling. Would you want to stay in a place like this? NO! not me. The other two halls (u noe which i am talking abt) actually embrace this! Yes, they do have atheletes who do other stuff too but they also welcome those who so called 'undeservedly' stayed on with open arms. THAT is what we lack. Really. If the new talent retention scheme really pushes through, all of us should learn to ditch the unwelcoming notion or practise or whatever we call it. Let's admit it. They are really that good. That's why they deserve special treatment. (unless they do not live up to their name, then.. hmm.. some heads will roll i guess?) Put your trust in your elected leaders! Unfair i hear? haha... read my previous post please. go be special. Life's tough.

anyway i need to get back in playing shape. handball playing state i mean. no form no feel no nothing. Conditioning starts. Lose those love handles tooTALL!

Lean, mean fighting machine.
To be?
