anyway, during the second day of the course where we were lounging in the mess during lunch break. This man just walked in, got his coffee and sat down with us. One of the things he said which got me thinking was...
"Christians go to church because they believe that they should encourage each other in the pursue of the religion. Just like in our workplace. We draw support, encouragement and whatever you have not from the people around us."
1. Does this explain why some christians like to share their faith by preaching? I sincerely believe that they want to share their religion with the 'common people' so to speak.
2. It is a nice idea to be able to draw support from the people around you. Especially in difficult times. BUT i think it will only last as long as they believe in you. One mistake and maybe out you will go. Unless you have your true friends around you, which will stand by you no matter what.
Isn't the latter thought very similar to things back then in hall? We keep saying and hearing people say, "I am doing these things for the people around me." It didn't hold more true to me or this sorta reminded me why we were so closely bonded and the friendship amongst us still remains. We stood up for each other and stood by each other. This is the camadarie that was so superb.
Inevitably we do have to go our separate ways due to different priorities in life, but this is one stage of our life that will never happen again or replay again. Treasure it and don't give it up so easily. You will gain more than you lose.
I am not a Liverpool fan but...
You'll never walk alone.
