Broad Shoulders

Ever felt that as we grow up, we tend to bear more responsibilities? Even without us realising it, it is happening to all of us. Some take longer time though.

Was just reading this book, titled "A minute for yourself", sort of realised that the process of shouldering responsibilities has sort of a pattern.

Firstly, as we grow up, especially in the uni, we start to take better care of ourselves. Slowly, most of us are less dependent on our parents. OK some of us start earlier but i guess this is about the time when we start to 'hit it out on our own' but knowing that we can just run back to the comfort of our parents' protection if we find that we can't cope.

Once we know how to take care of ourselves, we start to shoulder more responsibilities. Usually we will start by taking care of matters at home. Most start to bear some of the financial commitments at home when as we start working. *I am at this stage now i guess*

Next step? Taking care of someone else. Your partner? getting married.

Next? A family.

And the circle goes.

Thus, friend. Sometimes we find ourselves bogged down by the duties we shoulder. But do remember we are still growing up. Just run away for a while. Take a rest. But do remember to come back. Always believe in yourself cos you have others who believe in you. 加油!

Don't only do what you love.
Love what you do.
