Behaviourial Science

I dunno what happened. i typed out a long post and all is gone. F**K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
never mind i shall try to reconstruct it. *&%*^&%#&%&%&^*(^$&#%^$%#$

Alright. Alot of pple are stopping to blog for a while becos of the exams. well.. i shall try to continue blogging as much as my revision schedule permits. if not what is going to let our overworked brain escape after a long day of revision? heh.

alright. let's be a little scientific today and talk about behaviourial science. screw law. stupid test.

heh. i believe that our behaviour/responses to the people around us shapes our lifes to a certain extent. Cooley's concept of the self-looking glass applies i guess. We look at how people responds to our behaviour and through this contant seeking of approvals or disapprovals, we somehow shape our behaviour in society. For example, we know it's morally wrong to walk around naked on the streets.

This is especially so when there is a certain someone who is trying to get your attention. For example your crush. Being the nice you, you will respond or give more attention when 'tradegies' strikes... being 'sick, sad, or whatever'. I am not saying it's always true. I am just suggesting that it might be true. Somehow the frequency of these 'tradegies' increases. This might be because you are giving the other party the attention that he/she is so desperately seeking for. Thus unknowingly, you are encouraging his/her behaviour in this sense. It is worse if that person is hurting him/herself just to get your pity (attention).

This works the same in animals too. If you have pets, just try a simple experiment. Everything before you feed them, clap your hands or ring a bell before you give them the food. After a while, they will just come to you everytime you clap your hands or ring the bell regardless whether there is food or not. Same in human, the 'tradegies' concept.

Mead's looking glass also plays a part. I strongly feel that we have this responsibility towards the people around us. How we respond to their behaviour will shape how he/she will behave in society to a certain extent, depending on the personality of the individual. If we are sending the wrong signals to our friends, they might think that his/her behaviour is generally accepted and he/she will be what he/she will be in the future... to a certain extent. So, if your friend is acting or behaving like at ass, please tell him/her. If it's some undesirable trait of theirs, someone will correct it sooner or later in their lifes. And that someone might not be as friendly as you might be towards him or her. Please fulfill this responsibility if you must.

Tbus, our behaviour or the way we act actually shapes the type of personality that we attract to ourselves. Well.. if you behave like a slut, you can imagine what kind of men you might attract. And most importantly, we do have a responsibility to play towards the people around us. Especially those people we call friends.

Reap what you sow.
Steer each other out of harm's way.
