ok.. alcohol at tioman is damn cheap. duty free price is the same as that in singapore... but in ringgit. imagine... its 1/4 of the price off the shelves in singapore.
anyway... one thing i learnt in tioman.
i was sent to play handball on this sports day with the other participating navies. ok.. i was thinking i would be a good break from sailing. but in the end it was quite disappointing.
1. it was played on a field.
2. the field was super small
3. the players dunno how to play!
so i gave up and sat at the sides. but somehow the rest managed to enjoy themselves and this guy kept scoring.
so... there i was.. the supposedly good player back in singapore reduced to the sidelines and those supposedly who din noe how to play the proper handball game actually became the star players.
so what's good and what's not?
i guess it all boils down to the general perspective of the community. (something i learnt in HRM). in that case i was the lousy player cos their concept of the game is the same and very different from mine. so when they come to nus and play, they will be the lousy players instead... thus... hmm... general view or public opinion can actually make or break a person. politicians now command a new form of respect from me. ha.
oh.. one advice to all stepping up to end this entry. Cheers. All the best ben and elephant.
If you follow in someone's footsteps, don't expect to overtake them.
