I was feeling upset and it doesn't help that the skies were crying with me (or so i would like to think).
yes, i had to stop showering my love on her after 1yr11mths9days.
why?
simply, feelings weren't as strong as it used to be.
i should have foreseen this. it happened 2plus yrs back. same exact thing. same age of 22yrs old.
same scenario of just going out to work.
as vince aptly puts it, "girls just wanna have fun."
And today i had to come across this article on a woman's magazine. and guess what, it talks about why women like bad boys. And may i paraphase from the article.
"attraction isn't logic..."
"we tend to drool over the office Casanova or the sexy stranger at the club who looks like he got something to hide"
"when a bad boy smiles at you, you imagine he's thinking naughty things to do to you, which usually lasts five seconds before he moves on to pin another woman with that gaze. But weren't the fluttering butterflies in your tummy worth it?"
*bingo*
"Bad boys stay out and have fun and don't stay home to watch TV."
"The bad boy allows us to bring out the nurturing side in us - and our inner control freak."
"When men brags about their sexual conquests, women thrive on emotional conquests. And bad boys represent the ultimate challenge - can we make him fall in love with us and eventually become his one and only?"
But the author (which is a lady, Yvonne Kwok, if by now you haven't noticed) moves on to say,
"The problem is, a bad boy isn't easy to trap because he's never needy."
"If you land him, you'll always wonder if you're the only woman in his life besides his mum."
"Ultimately, his appeal lies in the excitement. We know we'll never be bored with him..."
*hits the nail right on the head*
This article hits right at what i am feeling now. But i am glad that Yvonne qualifies that she would prefer a stable life...
"I prefer a comfortable relationship where my man and I spend more time at home watching TV than hitting the clubs. Not for me, the constant stress of wondering where he is and who's he's with. Sure, it might get boring at times but i know i am going to be grateful for my dependable guy when we have kids."
"So yes, i might drool over someone like Adrian Grenier as bad boy Vince in Entourage but when it comes to the real thing, give me a good man like Colin Firth's Darcy in Pride and Prejudice anytime."
All i can say to myself is, "Shocking bad luck."
Right man, Right woman, Wrong time.
Sigh, never mind. It's the phase of growing up.
Dear,
As much as I am upset about how this had turned out, I never blamed you. I can understand where you are coming from. And i respect that. I just hoped that you enjoyed yourself in all aspects when we were together.
Thank you for being frank with me too.
Let's see if our paths will cross again.
Be happy and be well.
If you ever need me, I'll be there.
And how nicely E.E. Cummings puts it, "I will carry you in my heart."
So that i will do, my dear.
